See a sports medicine doc about that pain. Having been in the area of your run I suspect it might be a compartment syndrome and needs to have attention. Sometimes the difference in terrain can do bad things and you were doing some hills all the time….. If it is such relief is just a simple fix and you will be back on the road again. Do see a Doc so you can finish up.

Scott,
Good luck in your run across Nebraska. You are an inspiration to us and to many people out there. I hope these few lines from the Irish Blessing will bring you luck and comfort!
May the road rise to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face.
And rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the hollow of His hand.
God Bless!

Scott,
You are so dedicated and such an inspiration. I can only imagine how difficult some days must be and you have this tremendous, realistic attitude that we could all learn from. You have your goal and no matter how you finish it, preset or not, distance or not, you are definitely a winner!!! It is Girls and Boys Town’s benefit to have you out there giving attention to their great cause. I feel honored to know you and tell everyone about you. May the good Lord keep you safe.

I hear you spent the evening with my buddy Ron Richards. Having done some long distance efforts I would congratulate you on what you have accomplished so far and warn you of the emotional ups and downs. They are all normal so don’t spend much time worrying about the downs and love the ups. Good luck and take care of your body it will tell you what to do. Keep well hydrated and eat all you can.

Hi Scott,
Sounds like everything is running smooth. I wore one of the “Landmark Run” shirts at Prairie Life last night and had a couple of people ask about it. I was proud to say that I know and work with you, as well as telling them about your mission. Your an inspiration for all of us to fulfill our own life goals. Thanks, Scott

Hurray for Day 1!!!! You must have been really pumped up and motivated to take on all those extra miles today! I have been thinking about you running when I’m out on my motorcyle…the open road, alone with your thoughts, peaceful..
I wish you continued success, nice weather (may the wind be at your back-is that what you’re suppose to say to someone?), more cool experiences and meeting new people along the way. Sleep well!
Love,
Annette

Scooter, everything is coming together! It won’t be long now and we’re all excited for you to accomplish the goal you’ve been working so hard for. Your quote by Martin Luther King about not having to see the whole staircase but simply “taking the first step by faith” was excellent. That’s what this has all been about when you “had a dream” (had to throw that in) over a year ago–and when you officially take that first step and the “Landmark Run” begins on the western border of Nebraska, it will be each step by faith that you will accomplish the end result. You can do it. We’re behind you–Love, Mom & Dad
