Day 3 - Stunning Views
By Scott | April 21, 2007
Day 3
Miles Ran 36.5
Miles to Go 373.5
There isn’t much of an update tonight. Today was nearly perfect for running. We passed through the towns of Broadwater, Lisco, and Oshkosh. Lunch was a delicious hamburger, mashed potatoes and white gravy over Texas toast at the Roost in Lisco. Mmm mmm good!
The scenery today was far and away the best of the trip. Beautiful rolling landscapes, sandstone bluffs north of Highway 26 and the Platte River Valley south of the highway.
The forecast for the area the next few days is pretty shaky. We’ll take each day as it comes and accomplish as mush as possible without compromising our safety. I will keep you updated.

Hey Forrest… oh sorry I mean Scott, been checkin’ you out everyday to see how you are doing and by the sounds of it, so far so good!! What we want to know is why all the burgers?? Go for the steak!!! I’m glad you are enjoying the scenery and are still running strong. Cole wants to know if your leggs feel like rubber bands yet?

Hey Scott,
We’ve missed you during our lunch hour runs but Ron and I are taking great inspiration from your trek…we’ve started eating burgers every day, just like you:-) Congratulations on getting off to such a great start. I wish we could be there to support you but know that we’ll be thinking of you all along the way.
Thanks for the daily thoughts and photos. Looks like you’re having a great time. Tell Andy hi. Take care. Ray

Scott -
I look forward to reading your blog each day. I keep thinking of the day you will make it to Girls and Boys Town and seeing all the kids cheer you on towards the finish line. It is an honor to help publicize your run. I wish you continued success and strength along the way.

Hi Brother,
Just wanted to say Hi. I still think your crazy, but that doesn’t mean I don’t think what you are doing isn’t incredible and inspiring.
You know you make me proud to be your brother. So keep running and I hope to be out there with you on the road sometime next week.
Oh Yeah, How can you eat so much?
